Matt and Kristen on the Hewtin's Dog truck

about us

We met while working on opposite sides of the ‘house’ at the wonderful Hamersley’s Bistro in Boston. Soon thereafter we set our course for Rhode Island and opened the doors of Chez Pascal in March of 2003. The restaurant is constantly evolving with the ebb and flow of local, seasonal produce; taking cue from the fantastic farmers who inspire us and remaining true to classic, thoughtful food.

the truck

Hewtin’s Dogs Mobile Food Truck was created in 2008 as a result of Matt’s incessant fascination (passion) for making sausages and curing meats. It was an extension of our beloved Hot Dog Cart that was located in the park across the street from the restaurant in weather permitting months. The Truck was designed to feature our House Made Sausages, Sandwiches and Cured Meats, changing frequently like the restaurant menu, based on what is in season. It developed a wonderful loyal following (to which we are most grateful). In 2012 we opened THE WURST KITCHEN and as a result RETIRED the truck. However, you can still get our house made sausages, sandwiches etc, all the wonderful things you knew and loved from the truck. But now you’ll always know where we are.

the wurst kitchen

The Wurst Kitchen is a small open kitchen located in Chez Pascal. This opened in 2012 and focuses on our house made sausages even more! Check out the Wurst Kitchen story on this site!
You haven’t had our best until you’ve had our wurst.

the chezpron

After years of not being able to find a comfortable, functional apron to cook in we decided to create our own.
Please check out to see our answer to the problem.
It’s not a pain in the neck.

If you’ve been a hundred times or have never been before, we invite you to experience all that the seasons have to offer through our menus. We hope the charm of the dining room, the comforting ease of the staff, and the enticing combination of flavors and aromas will make your first visit to Chez Pascal & The Wurst Kitchen the first of many. We look forward to seeing you soon!

>>>New Note~ We will be closing to regroup and refresh starting July 4th – for the month of July.
Hello folks! Friday July 3rd will be our last pick up day until the beginning of August-ish. We are going to take a few weeks off to get our bearings, figure out how to make our temporary solution work more permanently for the future. What a journey we have had, collectively, since March! All of you filled our hearts and lifted our spirits from the little patch of concrete 6 feet from the Wurst Window. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to be whilst in the midst of such turmoil and uncertainty. We have witnessed first hand how people come together for the good of the whole, in spite of the personal sacrifices. Something that shouldn’t be so rare and precious but sadly is.
Keep that spirit, keep it safe, but don’t keep it hidden.

Know that when we return we will continue with our prepared meals TOGO but a more enhanced version, sprinkled perhaps with a few other elements. We are excited, honored, humbled, and determined.
See you in a bit lovelies!
